Bobby Lovelace of Midnight Star

We had the pleasure of interviewing Atlanta native Bobby Lovelace. He spoke of his rise through the Atlanta 70's music scene, to touring with the funk band Cameo as drummer, to eventually landing in Cincinnati as drummer for the 80''s hit making machine, Midnight Star. Although you may remember such song titles as Freak A Zoid, No Parking On The Dance Floor, Slow Jam, Midas Touch and others, you may not know that Midnight Star shared songwriting credits for Rock Steady by The... Whispers, writing and production credits for Meeting In The Ladies Room by Klymaxx, and songwriting and production credit for Body Talk by The Deele, which featured Baby Face and LA Reid.

MIdnight Star is still touring the world spreading love, peace, and funk the old school way. We Were Funky producers would like to thank Bobby for taking time out of his schedule to interview for the We Were Funky documentary. https://www.midnightstarband.com ‪
